FAQ

What is Spark?

Spark is a 16-week program designed to form the best teams to build Supercell's next hit game.

Who is IT for?

Spark is open to all ambitious game makers with a founder mindset. We are looking for programmers, artists and designers with experience in small teams and start-up environments.

What’s Spark’s schedule?

The program starts in August 2025 and ends in the beginning of December. The program will begin with an off-site event in the UK and will run for 16 weeks. We’re accepting applications from February 2025.

How many people will be participating in Spark?

We aim for approximately 16 participants, and the program will include Supercellains and external participants identified through our selection process.

What is this selection process?

The recruitment process consists of 3 online interviews.

Do I have to come to Helsinki / Can I work remotely?

We would love every participant to be present in Helsinki for the entire duration of the program. Remote work will be possible if you pass our team greenlight and get hired by Supercell.

What are the risks that I should be aware of?

Being selected for this program does not equal a guarantee that you will be hired full time by Supercell. You need to A) have / build a great team that we believe in and B) pass our team greenlight.

What kind of contract will there be between Supercell and candidates?

For the duration of the program, we’ll offer a fixed-term employment contract. The candidate will be considered an employee during that time, receive a monthly salary, healthcare, along other basic benefits.

Will there be compensation during my time in this program?

Yes. We will pay all chosen applicants a monthly salary that allows a good lifestyle while living in Helsinki for the duration of the program. If you're coming from outside of Helsinki, we'll arrange accommodation + cover all the travel costs.

What if I need a sick day or a day off?

As you’ll be temporarily employed by Supercell, the same rules apply as our regular employees: sick days are paid and covered both by our private healthcare service provider and our health insurance. Days off need to be agreed with the program’s lead and team members.

What happens if I have an emergency and need to QUIT the PROGRAM? Are there financial repercussions?

You notify the program lead and we deal with the rest. There’ll be no contractual obligations to stay or penalties.
